Services & Categories

Learn how to create, organize, and manage your service offerings.

Understanding Categories

Categories help organize your services and make it easier for customers to find what they need.

Categories group related services together. For example, a salon might have:

  • Haircuts – Men's cut, Women's cut, Kids' cut
  • Treatments – Deep conditioning, Keratin treatment
  • Styling – Blowout, Updo, Braids

Tip: Every service must belong to a category. Create your categories first before adding services.

1

Creating Categories

Set up categories to organize your services.

Go to Services → Categories in your dashboard:

  1. Click the "Add Category" button
  2. Enter a name for your category (e.g., "Haircuts", "Facials", "Packages")
  3. Click "Create Category" to save

Managing Categories

  • Edit – Click the menu button to rename a category
  • Delete – Remove empty categories (categories with services cannot be deleted)
2

Adding New Services

Create the services customers can book.

Go to Services and click "Add Service":

  • Title – The service name (e.g., "Men's Haircut", "60-Minute Massage")
  • Category – Select which category this service belongs to
  • Description – Details about what's included (optional)
  • Price – The cost in JMD
  • Duration – How long the service takes (hours and minutes)

Click "Create Service" to save. Your service will appear on your booking page immediately.

3

Setting Prices and Duration

Configure how much you charge and how long each service takes.

Price

  • • Enter the price in Jamaican Dollars (JMD)
  • • Prices are shown to customers before booking
  • • If you have tax (GCT) enabled, it will be added at checkout

Duration

  • • Set hours (0-23) and minutes (in 5-minute increments)
  • • Duration determines available time slots on your calendar
  • • Be accurate – this prevents double-bookings

Tip: If you change a service's price, it won't affect existing bookings. The original price is saved when the booking is made.

4

Buffer Time

Add preparation or cleanup time between appointments.

Buffer time blocks extra time before or after appointments. This is useful for:

  • Setup time – Prepare your workspace before the client arrives
  • Cleanup time – Clean and reset after the appointment
  • Travel time – If you need to travel between locations

When editing a service, scroll down to find the Buffer Time section. You can set:

  • Buffer Before – Time blocked before the appointment starts
  • Buffer After – Time blocked after the appointment ends

Example: A 1-hour massage with 15-minute buffer after will block 1 hour 15 minutes total on your calendar, but the customer only sees the 1-hour appointment.

5

Activating and Deactivating Services

Control which services are visible on your booking page.

Each service has an Active/Inactive status that controls visibility:

Active Services

  • • Visible on your public booking page
  • • Customers can book these services
  • • New services are active by default

Inactive Services

  • • Hidden from your booking page
  • • Customers cannot book them
  • • Useful for seasonal or discontinued services

To change a service's status:

  1. Go to Services in your dashboard
  2. Find the service you want to change
  3. Click the menu button (three dots)
  4. Select "Deactivate" or "Activate"

Note: Deactivating a service doesn't cancel existing bookings. Customers who already booked will still have their appointments.

6

Editing and Deleting Services

Update service details or remove services you no longer offer.

Editing a Service

  1. Go to Services
  2. Click the menu button on the service
  3. Select "Edit"
  4. Update the details and click "Edit Service"

Deleting a Service

  1. Go to Services
  2. Click the menu button on the service
  3. Select "Delete"
  4. Confirm the deletion

Warning: Deleting a service is permanent and cannot be undone. Consider deactivating instead if you might offer the service again in the future.
